Arnold and District Camera Club went on a summer evening trip to the Nottingham Jubilee Campus.
The campus is relative new, full of architectural gems. It's built on the site of the former Nottingham Manufacturing Giant "Raleigh" , once the worlds largest bicycle manufacturer and a site that employed 1000's of employees.
Now it;s home to students from across the world, an beautiful campus in an inner city setting.
This is the GSK Carbon Neutral Laboratory for Sustainable Chemistry and has a grass roof !!
Poor Raleigh! How fallen are the once mighty? As a kid I cycled along the Ring road alongside so many people cycling to work at Boots, Raleigh and Players. Good luck to the current lot trying to do sustainable chemistry... sustainability doesn't immediately seem to me to be in the nature of chemistry!
