Ruby and myself on the Monsal Trail in the Derbyshire Peak District.
We'd just stopped for a drink near the old Bakewell Railway station, so I asked my wife to take a photo of me and my best mate .
Jane is a reluctant photographer, but will take a photo of me and Ruby if I give her instructions. Unfortunately while giving her instructions ,,,"move a little closer . now a bit to your left" , she stood in some dog poo (not Ruby's I may add, as we always pick up !). She wasn't impressed, but I did offer to clean her shoe !
Shot with my old Canon 450D and nifty 50mm lens.
I wish I'd moved the backpack out of the photo , but maybe it adds to the story :)
The back pack definitely helps to tell the story. Love your companionable pose and Ruby’s white “spectacles” that show her age in dog years. Choosing to post the picture in B&W was also a good idea. Monotone always gives weight to a portrait, I think.
I expected this shot today after your comments on my picture of yesterday. You are always very photogenic with your lovely smile and Ruby is a special mate for you. Great work by your wife, Jane - she should be on 365 like you. Seems you are taking the best out of your retirement. Been to Bakewell years ago.
