100 Strangers : No. 220 (additional photo) Margaret by phil_howcroft

100 Strangers : No. 220 (additional photo) Margaret

his is an additional photo of Margaret, stranger number 220 in my 100 strangers series. Margaret is the vicar of St. Mary's Church , in Arnold , Nottingham

The story of my meeting with Margaret is documented in the link below.

I entered the original photo of Margaret on the church path into a competition, run by the National Portrait Gallery. The brief of which was to capture the spirit, mood, hopes, fears and feelings of the nation as we continue to deal with the Coronavirus outbreak. It was a close call as to whether I entered this photo or the one shown in the link into the competition, but after a chat with Margaret we decided that the church path photo told a better story.

A great portrait to remember the horrific times of the pandemic. -fav, but to me the previous image with the church gave a much much stronger insight to the situation we are in !

Great portrait capture and composition with her standing right in the middle of the church door.

Well done.

Another great shot of Margaret but I agree with your full figure choice...it has more impact by far for the purpose it was used for.
I’m keeping fingers crossed for that one. I like this too.

A wonderful timely capture.

I prefer the church path one too, it has more storytelling involved, but this is nice too. (Secret urge to straighten it slightly as the door uprights are slanting......OCD strikes again LOL!) Her facial expression is so enigmatic.
