We went to a wine tasting event today in Nottingham. This wasn't wine tasting relating to my previous stranger story, it was an event in the city centre.
The event was hosted by Notts and Derby Wine School and various wine suppliers, vineyards , specialist shops from the East Midlands and beyond were invited to showcase their products.
It was a good event, we sampled some lovely wines. The event took place in the beautiful St. Mary's church in the heart of Nottingham's Lace Market.
This is a scene from the back of one of the stalls , as Jane and I had a few nibbles between samples (our own nibbles, there was no pairing of wine to food, but maybe that wasn't practical given that each stall had lots of different wines to sample).
The light wasn't brilliant in the church , so I had to bump the ISO up on my Sony A6000 and nifty fifty
A great B&W candid shot. It's really neat how all the people are in the middle ground and their face on focus. We recognize the church interior in the background amid the nice bokeh.
I love this image. I’m always interested in the dynamics of people in larger groups. (I have an airport series I have done over the last several years. It’s fascinating to people watch). The black and white brings the people into nice focus.
Atmospheric and intriguing capture - I wonder what it is that the people who are looking towards the left are watching? Presumably the church hasn't installed a TV screen for the world cup matches? ;-)
Good choice of b&w, colour might well have been very distracting.
@corinnec corinne, it was so dark I had to shoot at f1.8 , so the depth of field was very narrow
@2022julieg thanks julie, black and white was the easy option as the whole scene was lit by artificial light of lightbulbs from the chandeliers
