This is John and his dog Diesel, they are not part of my strangers project as I see them regularly when I am walking Elsie and when I used to walk Ruby.
John lives in a flat with his wife and dog, it is close to St. Mary's Church in Arnold, which is one of our regular walk routes. On a nice day he sits on his doorstep watching the world go by and chats to people passing his flat.
I've chatted to him on many occasions. I had my camera with me today (Thursday) as I was going to take a photo of the blossom tree by the entrance to St. Mary's Church. I asked John if it was OK to take a photo of him and Diesel. As you can see he said "Yes"

This is a fabulous portrait! The low perspective is wonderful and the environment, John's front door, creates an intimate atmosphere. Diesel and John both looked straight at the camera establishing a direct connection with us viewers!
