We went to "The Park Garden Trail" on Sunday in The Park Nottingham.
The Park Estate is a private residential housing estate to the west of Nottingham city centre, England. It is noted for its Victorian architecture. Today many houses opened their gardens to the public, a charitable event supporting 10 nominated charities. We saw some beautiful gardens.
This is Simone and if you read her badge she is a “house owner”. Simone and her husband moved into the house 20 months ago. Simone told me the garden was overgrown, you couldn’t see the beautiful wall surrounding the garden and they had no idea that there was a lovely path down the centre of the garden. She wanted to create a very English country garden. I told her she’s succeeded, I liked the apple tree we were stood under. “Golden Delicious rather than Bramley, which seems common for these parts” said Simone . I asked about Simon’e accent, she told me she was from Belgium. I said I thought she might be Greek when I first started talking to her. Simone said she tans easily, she also told me her father was from Syria, so she said that perhaps she has the look of somewhere in the middle of the two, Portugal maybe!
I told her we had a lovely garden, but we have a puppy dog (well 10 months old) and she likes to eat our flowers and has a particular liking for our Olive Tree ! Simone said she may have a taste for Olive Oil”
I asked Simone if I could take her photo, she said of course, we moved to the shade of her wall and I got the house in the background to help tell the story. Thank you for letting me take your photo Simone, enjoy your garden this summer.
She looks a lovely happy lady. Her sun tan makes her look like a Maltese lady. I am that dark already notwithstanding I put lots of sun blockers and sometimes even wear a hat . And that is besides the fact that I am continuously looking for shady spots for my walks.
Lovely portrait and she certainly looks dressed for the weather.
PS just saw on the news about the incident in Nottingham and it made me think of you. Terribly sorry to hear about such a thing happening in your city.
@casablanca thanks Casa' the incident has shocked the city . A very sad day , the city centre is such a vibrant and diverse place one cannot imagine this happening
Simone is a very attractive woman..she obviously has great taste in garden & style. I have been thinking of Nottingham today , those poor poor families, doesn’t bear thinking of.
Very nice portrait!
