We went to Nottingham on Saturday, for a Fathers Day meal with my daughters, son in laws’s , grandchildren and wife. We went to a tapas restaurant. After the meal we had a wander around the market square. There was a local market and a big floral tribute outside the council house following the tragic events that unfolded in the city centre this week.
I noticed two men eating 99’s (Mr. Whippy Ice cream in a cone with a flake for those readers who may not be aware of the term) and thought they would make a great photo.
So I went over to introduce myself and ask them for a photo.
“Where are you going to put it” was the first question.
“On Instagram and my 365 photo blog project, I photograph strangers on the street”
“Will we be famous?”
“I don’t think so , I don’t have a big social media following, but they will be nice photos”
Meet Mucha and Ronnie, who I think you will agree look really cool with the 99’s
“Tell us when to smile?”
“You don’t have to smile, just look towards the camera”
I had a chat to Ronnie and asked him what he was doing, he had some leaflets in his hand and was actually making people aware of a local church and he told me about the beliefs of the church. To be fair to Ronnie he only told me about the church when I asked , he wasn’t preaching on the street.
When I returned home I looked up the church, it meets every Sunday at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham, The Light City Church. Ronnie is actually the pastor, his bio on the church website reads “Pastor Ronnie is co-founder and senior pastor at The Light City Church, his ministry as a pastor, teacher, author and healing minister, continues to transform many lives around the world helping them to experience a victorious and purposeful life in God’s word.” The church core values are, Love above All, Excel in everything you do and treat everybody with respect and integrity.
We bumped fists and I gave Ronnie a contact card. Thank you Ronnie and Mucha for letting me take your photo and tell your story
