They are very territorial; I was surprised I could get this close to him. Strange fact, for anybody not from the UK, all swans here are owned by Queen Elizabeth II. She is the only person in the country permitted to eat them (a delicacy apparently around the time of Henry VIII)
It's not too shabby on black if you have the time or inclination.

Interesting also to read on the RSPB website the following statement
"The Queen has a prerogative over all swans in England and Wales. The Swan Keeper also despatches swans all over the world, sent as gifts in the Queens name"
