The aftermath

We noticed on this trip to the coast that the burnt trees which had the beautiful deep red colour in response to the fires are now shedding that bark in great sheets. I'm hoping that this is a survival strategy, but haven't done my research yet!

@777margo the small village where our coast house is was burnt up to the perimeter. Heavy retardant bombing saved the village. Thanks for your concern💋

This shot shows the fire's devastation and the possibility for rebirth of the trees. Last night 60 Minutes did a detailed TV special report on the wildfires in Australia. So sad to watch.
