Mertens Falls

On the way to Mitchell Falls. First there was Little Merten Falls, then this Merten Falls. I was not brave enough to stand on the edge and look down to see the actual falls. It was a loooong way down!
From here, more hot walking to the main attraction.

I don't blame you for not wanting to get too close to the edge. This reminds me of the the movie Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Butch, Paul Newman and Sundance, Robert Redford, are cornered on the edge of a cliff by a posse. Their only hope of escaping is to jump into the river far below. Butch is ready but Sundance wants to shoot it out with the law. Sundance refuses and Butch asks him, "why?" Sundance says, "I can't swim." Butch pauses, laughs and says, "Are you crazy? The fall will probably kill ya."
