Mahonia
Yesterday I noticed that this mahonia, by the stream, has new brownish red leaves unfurling in addition to its mature green ones and the green and blue berries from the last flowering.

What an amazing but unusual sight - is it possible that Mother Nature is having a "fashion alert". Love the capture and the green / brown contrast.

What an exotic plant! It seems to have flourished in our cold and wet spring. Great shot!

That's a very fine mahonia - I'll be having words with our sorry specimen1

The brown is fine and gives your mahonia a real terrestrial look. I am expecting it to reach over and bite my head off.

Great pic. Does look like something from out-of-space though. Never seen a plant quite like this.

I've never noticed it before and althought there are two stems on the plant, the second one looks just dead in the centre.

I'm glad you commented you had never seen it as it's been interesting to me too to look back at it in the spring.
