I took these pics in a local market town yesterday & had no idea of the reason for the flags being out until I heard the news on the radio this morning.
I really like the roofline of the old houses! (And I think my eye was following that instead of the horizon as I took the shot....)
Yes, I heard this on the radio for the first time too. The flags are blowing really well in the breeze, something to be proud of. Another very nice collage and love the old lamp.
I love the sense of history that these buildings ooze. The coachlights are wonderful and bring images to mind of carriages and gaslight. Are these building typical of any particular era?
@creativeamateur@doblaine Some buildings in the square here in Wickham are typical of Georgian architecture & also typical of other villages/small market towns in Hampshire & to be found in the cathedral city of Winchester.
