an army of hostas growing beside our stream.....

and soon to be mercilessly attacked by an army of slugs and snails. Ray tried growing vegetables in this back garden one year and it was not an unqualified success!

Now to take Jinks out for a quick walk and then back to join Ray in the decorating.
love the colour of the new shoots at ground level, lovely capture

Growing beautifully! Mine have just started, but the deer usually come when they are perfect!

@havrotb

At least deer are a bit more photogenic than slugs (ugh!) or snails!

Great shot Hazel. I love hostae, I have 7 different types in my garden , still on the hunt for more, so far no problem with snails and slugs though they like them

I`ve no explanation found for it, They are use from the 17 th century and I think the same craftsmen made them ( they are made of timber )

I love hostas, pity the slugs and snails do too. My Mother-in-law has just sent us home with some of the ones her gardener has divided up for her this week to replace the ones the slugs destroyed last year. I hope we have better luck this time. Thanks for the follow, very happy to follow back.

Slugs and snails were the first things that came to mind when I saw this. Nice of you to provide them with an abundant food supply!
