Apologies if you are bored with my cormorants - but it's not often I get the chance to 'shoot' them. They seem to me to be quite majestic. This one appears to have some twine attached to his feet.
I've tried getting shots of cormorants down at the Royal Docks, and they're very tricky, so I admire your skills. I won't ever get bored with them!

That's very kind. It was doubly difficult becase of the angle of the sun, plus I had packed my bridge camera (with viewfinder) away for the journey home so just had my little Lumix to use. This one sat still for ages.

A lovely shot. By coincidence I took my first photos of them only yesterday.

Very nice capture. That is a shame about the twine - poor fellow!

Nice shot. I see them frequently in the summer. They have all flown south for the winter. They are majestic.

Not bored yet, so you can do some more. Great capture of the bird and that lovely rusty pole.

Excellent capture, Hazel. Your cormorant shots have been great and I've enjoyed looking at them.

They are fascinating aren't they. I was once mesmerised in Asia, watching the fishermen use them to catch fish for them, trained and rewarded just like hunting dogs. Super shot.

well captured Hazel

Super shot, Hazel, very sharp, and nicely muted background - fav. The twine worries me though.

He's a poser! Do you think he might be tagged? I had a hard time seeing the twine. Great capture of him!

Very good capture and he really looks like he is meditating

Keep shooting as I love the bird life.

@eyesmile

Not tagged, I think as it appears to be tangled up round his claws and don't think tagging would leave that length hanging down in corkscrews.

@happysnap

That's interesting and had not heard of it before. They must be very intelligent to be trained like that.
