'red for poinsettia day'

A chill-out day awaits: meeting my friend Anne for lunch at Brasserie Blanc followed by a leisurely wander around Winchester. I was thinking of just leaving my camera indoors but I'm starting to have serious second thoughts!
If you happen to notice the date on this shot it should be Dec 10 not Jan 10 (before I altered the clock on my X20).
Why do poinsettias get a day to themselves?
Beautiful shot Hazel , one of my two cameras need to be re set date-wise too but I keep forgetting to do it !!

I put a watch on the other day and it was on summer time! I only wear a watch now when I need to watch (!) car parking. Before that it was only to time lessons. I usually know the time by instinct to about 10 mins.

@quietpurplehaze -I am lost without a watch !! and have clocks in every room -- but my friend -we used to teach together -- she never wears a watch !! mind you ,my dining room clock still ticks away in summer time !!

You've reminded me that my grandmother gave me a clock which ticked rather loudly. It so annoyed Ray when he was studying for his Insurance Institute exams that he buried it in the sewing basket so he couldn't hear it.

A beautiful capture and close up nicely framed.
I don`t take any attention on the date. Mine has a life of it`s one.
And... I often use older pic.`s as it comes in handy.

Lovely shot Hazel. Is this another new camera?
December 12th, 2013
@purplehaze12

Yes, it is, because I found a few issues with the Panasonic bridge camera, not least that it's a bit bulky for me to handle. I shall still use my Lumix TZ25 which I really like but I do like to have a camera with a viewfinder and the X20 has a brilliant one. I shall probably never buy another camera now!

Every time I leave my camera at home I seem to regret it but sometimes it can be a bit of a chore lugging it around. My husband is looking at a new small camera in the new year and I'm encouraging him!!!!!!!!!!!! This is lovely Hazel, I seem to have a real problem trying to photograph red flowers, not sure why!

@paulaw

My problem is photographing white flowers! For that I change the aperture from say 2.8 to maybe 5 on the advice of my photography tutor but not sure what works for red, sorry!

Thank you LInda. Yes lovely lunch and great to seemy friend. We had just finished our coffee and managed to escape as a party of 18 sat down at adjacent tables and started to make huge noise before they had even had a drink!
