As I was drinking the first cup of tea of the day this morning, I heard a snippet on Classic FM: beautiful Valentine's Day cakes, lovingly decorated, on display each with a label, 'best before Feb 13th'.
My amaryllis flowers in a vase are posted for word of the day 'Valentine Colour': they will surely be best before Feb 14th and I am bemused by today's word but guess it means red.
Pat, this is a bit of subterfuge: I saw some cut amaryllis in thelocal fruit and veg shop so I bought 3 stems and each has 2 flowers! The amarylis in a pot is not far behind and one bud is breaking open today. (I'm just greedy!!!)
A lovely best before shot, great colour. I was bemused about the word of the day as well since I haven't a clue what in the world a valentine colour is Red seems a good choice

Thank you -shall remember that expression!
Thank you Gerry. I love these amaryllis flowers. We often used to give them as presents at Christmas - in a box and ready to plant.
