I took this little penguin's photo from a vantage point looking over their enclosure at Marwell Zoo.
Having bipolar disorder, stuff sometimes affects me which would not be a problem for other folk. I've had to be a bit quiet and keep calm for the past several days and put extra coping strategies in place in order to feel really better from a situation which upset me.
It's been great to have 365 with the opportunity to focus on the response to my photos and the chance to view yours.
Yesterday I was relieved to feel better and enjoyed my trip to the zoo for a small photoshoot.
You have captured the essence of just wanting to withdraw and keep quiet. How lucky for you to have insight and effective coping strategies. You must have had to work hard at this. Isn't it wonderful going to the zoo as a grown up and not from a child's view! Only just discovered this! Hope the weekend is good for you.
So pleased you are feeling a litter better again -- a sign of this is recognizing and being brave enough to bring your illness out to the open --keep smiling Hazel -- This is a sweet capture -- he looks so alone in his big "wellie "feet !! Horrible morning here -- rain and cold !! -- roll up some sunshine and warmth -- it will cheer us all up !!
Lovely shot Hazel from that angle. Sorry to hear that you have been struggling but brave to tell us about it. I am glad that 365 is able to help you as I am sure a wonderful supportive husband is too. Keep it up we are here for you. x
Isn't he just a darling with his big feet...penguins look so cute & vulnerable, I always think they look odd with no arms!
365 is so wonderful specially for us women, you get so much support & help here......you are never alone! Good to know yourself & how best to manage this illness, you sound as though you know exactly how to get over each spell of upset....good for you! Special thoughts today Hazel. X
I think penguins are the cutest little things - very strange looking tho! Very pleased to hear that you have some effective coping strategies on hand to help you :)xx
Little happy feel there is a real cutie, I hope you enjoyed your time at the zoo, your time was well spent from what I see. I have faith that you will overcome this present state of upset be the person you want & deserve to be.......if only it was that easy ! Good luck.
Sweet photo, super coping skills. Here's to 365 - it cures what ails you. I find it so soothing to view everyone's images and so nourishing to read everyone's gentle comments both to me and to each other.
What a cool pic - instant FAV. I find that sometimes when I feel the need for quiet picking up my camera and just wandering does me SO good. Sending you good thoughts always and a hug today as well.
I am so sorry to hear you've been struggling lately, but it's great you can still focus on 365 enough to let it help. I've gone through episodes with several friends, so I've seen how painful life gets. As someone else said ahead of me, we're all here for you. Sending hugs.
I love penguins but have difficulty get the wrappers off them (That's probably amusing to those in the UK). Lovely capture and glad you were able to get out and about, remember to just keep smiling.
I`m glad to read you are doing better by now. Take good care of yourself and take time for yourself. And: always look at the bright side of life.
Great pov and composition on this beautiful/lovely /funny penguin pic.
What a cute little chap, you have captured him well. Sorry to hear you are struggling at the moment. Hope you are feeling better soon. My daughter has bipolar disorder so I can identify with some of your pain.
365 is a wonderful medium to express your talents and get positive feed back from fellow photographers. Look after yourself and take care. xx
Amazing shot - this little guy looks a little 'quiet' also, or maybe just reflective? Either way, I love it. I am so glad you are feeling a little better today!
A great POV, really cute little guy. I am glad to hear you are feeling better, I am sorry to hear of your pain and proud of you for knowing when to pull back and ease out of the bad times. And I am happy for you that 365 helps as I know we all want to help each other in ways that we can. You have a lovely talent with photography and I am always happy to see what you do for the day.
Thank you, Babs, so much. I'm glad to have got over this blip because, as you will know, bp can escalate so quickly. At least now I know what to do and when to do it. I hope your daughter is keeping well.
Just a line to say how very much I appreciated all of your understanding words and empathy. I was touched by all that you said. Just 2 days after I posted that rather forlorn little penguin, and 10 days after what upset me, I'm glad to say that I now feel absolutely back to 'normal'!
It's good to keep a check on everyone, Pat. Maybe by some remote chance one day we might find a 'halfway house' meeting point some time. My problem is that 3 hours by car is absolute max (and that would have to be going to stay somewhere) otherwise I can start to feel ill. ( And Ray would have to drive me there as I only do local - wot a pain in the wotsit I am!!)
Thanks, Beryl. We have the same weather and I'm trying to work out the optimum time to take Jinks out! I like your description of 'wellie' feet.

It is and not many people seem to notice it ( me included) until they see it in a photo - this is a Humboldt penguin.
Vega, thank you so much for your good wishes. (I wondered abut having my camera welded to my hand!!!!)
Thank you, and yes I am, thankfully!
Barbar Sue, thank you and it's helpful that you understand from experience. Thanks for the hugs!
Thanks, Marilyn , for your comments and good wishes.
Personally I'd rather have a kit kat!!
You're definitely one step ahead of me in repartee, Heather!!!
Great pov and composition on this beautiful/lovely /funny penguin pic.
Ah, a professional, should have guessed.

Ferry, thank you for your very kind words.
What a lovely message you've left me here, both for the bipolar and for my photography. I really do appreciate what you say and thank you.
Thanks so much for your supportive words.

Tammy, thank you for stopping by and for kind words. Yes, he could just be reflective - or thinking nothing at all!
That's good your daughter is well and yes, I try always to do carpe diem but sometimes my mind has other ideas!
