Lacecap hydrangea from our friends Roger and Judy's garden. I really like the colour combinations which emphasize for me why some of us see pink as purple and vice versa.
Haha, see what you mean Hazel, love your crop, fav for me.
Do you find you crop now instead of taking the whole flower? I know I would never have thought of doing it that way when I first started 365!:))
@quietpurplehaze I can certainly see there is a difference in the hues, but I never was very clear on where pink stops and purple starts. Mauve just complicates things more :)
Well, I see pink and I see purple!!! I usually have a very hard time knowing the differences in the shades of colors as I am color blind in that area. The only time I can tell the difference is when you put one next to the other. Ask me when they are alone and I can't tell. No matter, this is a beautiful photo and shows the complications of how we see things!! FAV! Love it against the white and with the black background!!
You have started quite a debate here Hazel. I see purple and mauve. Is mauve classed as pink or purple or just a colour on its own. ha ha. It just goes to show that things aren't just plain black and white, they are purple and pink too.
I see the 'buds' as pink and the lacy bits as purple (well mauve to be precise!)

You've made me think about that - I think I've always done both but I do particularly like close-up flower shots.
I can't think of a special word for that, Ferry.
