Haze's strangers: No. 58: Jacob aka The Mad Hatter
I saw the Mad Hatter in Winchester collecting for The Children's Society so I dug into my camera bag for some change and then asked Jacob for a photo. He was happy to pose.
My intention in my strangers' project is to begin taking what I would call portrait photos instead of 'straight' portraits: shots with more background and with the subject as an integral part of that background. This idea has been inspired by a beautiful portrait photo which I saw taken by a friend of a friend.
But Winchester High Street on a Saturday afternoon was not the place to start.
My camera did a very nice close crop of this shot, something else I hope to try, but I wanted to include Jacob's costume, made by his girlfriend who was collecting on the other side of the street. http://365project.org/quietpurplehaze/add-ins/2016-06-05
Jacob comes from Exeter but is currently a student in Cambridge working towards a sports coaching degree. He told me that he is a sprinter and is now in training for a triathlon.
