Ray suggested a trip to Hilliers today and decided he would pre-order me a scooter to hire. I feel I could have walked quite a bit with my trekking poles but it was nice to effortlessly glide among the autumn scenery.
Half way round, the scooter did what Jinks sometimes used to do - refused to budge. It was quickly sorted, although it involved Ray walking back to reception leaving me in the middle of the winter garden.
Everywhere was crowded as it is half-term so we abandoned our plan of lunching at the arboretum and drove to a nearby pub.
As we walked in the door we found staff putting a lady in the recovery position and learnt she had had a fall. The first responder and ambulance soon arrived.
The landlord took our order and we had a good lunch. I think the lady customer went to hospital.
So rather an eventful few hours but I also took some autumn photos, including this one of an orange fungus which I cannot identify.
Thank you - had never seen these before.
