'Joy': sweet pea.......

...........one from the archive - not too many growing this time of year......... I can't remember my father growing purple ones but his sweet peas, straight from the garden, always smelt so gorgeous.

I guest this is what we call a Lathyrus . Pea is translated to green pea a vegetable .Never seen a spotted one . It`s very beautiful , so the pic. is

@pyrrhula I looked up lathyrus and think maybe this is lathyrus odoratus? It has the most exquisite scent. Yes, we have green peas to eat too! (Mostly frozen!!)

@quietpurplehaze I do think so. The second name is ??. Often with plant/seeds so many spieces they looks much the same.
