We have several of these purple hellebores in our back garden near the ferns and the stream. There used to be some lighter mauve ones which have now somehow disappeared.
Thanks for all your comments. I did have to take a few shots to get this one as the hellebore was hanging its head down so I had to get the camera underneath it without actually myself lying on the frozen ground! I was also trying to cut out the background but didn't quite succeed - a crop helped out!
Love it. I was over the moon last night when I went to see what has been going on in our garden as our Hellebore has two flowers on. Similar colour to this one but a bit darker.
@brav Would be good to see it?! We definitely also had a much lighter mauve hellebore which has now gone - or maybe reverted to this colour, I don't know, I love them too.
To indentify it , try : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helleborus . I think it`s a oriental or niger but as there are so many of them it`s very difficult to find out .
If you don`t , just enjoy them as they are

Thank you, Nailah. (I like your new profile pic.)
Thank you for taking the trouble to stop by and comment!

I'll have a look, thank you. But probably best, as you say, just to enjoy it (I'm bound to forget the capital letters anyway (he!he! excuse me!!)
Thank you very much - I printed this off yesterday and it's now hanging on the bathroom wall.
