Ray, clearing out the loft on a rainy day, found 'Monkey'.
This soft toy, when given to one-year-old Neil by my mum, sported a green velvet jacket and a jaunty trilby hat with a feather.
He was an instant fav and became a constant companion. (I used to keep a close eye on Monkey when we went out: I could imagine the consequences if he went astray.)
His original clothes fell to pieces; as you see, he got new ones, knitted by my mum.
Just a bit of nostalgia - and he has now gone back in the loft.
Monkey looks well loved, perhaps Neil would like him back! Too loved for the attic! I know what you mean about taking these much lived toys, comforter blankets etc out into the world, you live in dread of them getting lost!
Monkey looks well loved. I keep trying to give my adult kids some of their well loved toys but they don't want them and I can't bare to throw them out!
He is mid-40s so I guess Monkey is too!
He lived in the bottom of my wardrobe for a while!
Super shot too
That sums it up!
