Can anybody please tell me the name of these chili peppers?
Sold at a garden gate, fatter than those I buy in the supermarket, approx 9cm long and 4cm diameter where the stalk joins.
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
Are they Habernaros? Nice colour and waxy surface not alot of difference from a Bell Pepper. Would be interested to know if they have black or white seeds please Hazel.
@doblaine Yes, they do look like a smal/thinl bell pepper, have white seeds and Neil and I tasted a tiny piece of one which was quite hot so he used half a one in a stir fry last night but not too much heat when it was cooked. (Ray saw them and bought them when he was on the Wednesday ramble.)
@doblaine Thanks for all of that. I think I'm going to take one to my local greengrocer to see what he thinks. They do look more like bell peppers and too big for chilis but raw they definitely taste like them.
Wow - are those chillis?! How impressive! Its a super shot Hazel and I absolutely love the red fire extinguisher - how brilliant can you be!!!!??!! So glad you've made a start on the Nov list!!!
We call them `` Paprika`s `` We eat them very often . Red , orange yellow or green ones. On August ( 22 and more ) I did some pic`s of the greenhouses they grow in. Love you red`s in this pic. You don`t need a fire extinguisher by eating this ones . They`re not hot
@creativeamateur Thank you - I think the chillis are after all not the really hot ones that David thought they might be. I was getting a bit worried when I read on a website the suggestion to wear gloves when handling them! One thing I really like on 365 is learning little interesting bits and pieces from other 365ers.
