on my walk with Jinks yesterday....

......I saw three rowan trees each with different coloured berries. Hard to choose which one to shoot but I chose this one and just as I was about to take the shot a little butterfly flew in. Country folklore has it that if there are lots of berries on the trees and in the hedgerows, the winter will be harsh. But I heard recently that a mild winter is forecast so I think it's a question of wait and see. Today has turned out sunny after a dull and rainy start. We LIKE talking about the weather in England!
This berry shot is lovely with the sun light on the berries. Lovely bokeh too.

Beautiful rich color, Hazel, and the little butterfly is a wonderful touch!

The little butterfly is almost camouflaged, until you've viewed it large-- then it's obvious. Or it's my eyes. Lovely shot.

What a bonus getting the butterfly as well. Sometimes we don't always see them until we upload them and it's always a nice surprise. Lovely colours

A fabulous summer followed by a mild winter, could we hope for more?
As a side line this is a rather gorgeous shot

@claireuk

It's OK, Claire, I think the prospect of a mild winter (if it's true of course) is the point of most interest!!! (Thanks for the comment.)

I hope you are right about the winter Hazel I too always think if there are lots of berries it will be cold. There are lots of berries on this Rowan tree too..I must have a look at ours. A fantastic photo with the butterfly too...great catch there!

Gorgeous and very well-composed with the little butterfly! I think some people here in the states call this a mountain ash. Or, maybe that's a different species? I don't know, but it sure is pretty!

These three I saw had red, orange and yellowish berries respectively which I'd never seen before. Thanks for your comment, Julie.
