A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
Super capture Hazel --although a wild flower I have a bunch growing in y back garden --I do not know where it came from -- birds I expect -- bur as I love the little violet I have allowed it to grow I shall have to pop out to see if it is in flower when this shower passes !
Oh violets in January, wonder if there is a saying about it such: "When violets in January grow, spring will come and winter go" (sorry Hazel acting a bit foolish since it was a long day today)
Thanks for all your views and comments. I've found that violets do not usually bloom until March so these are very early. I also found, to my horror, that wild violets are regarded as weeds: my sister and I used to go for walks with our grandfather around the fields (now built on) in Claydon in Suffolk and in season, pick bunches of violets so they've always had a romantic feel for me.
Bring on the violets!
Definitely they do, not usually out for ages yet - there were some light mauve ones too!
Karin, please make up a rhyme about the rain to see if you can make it disappear?!

Purple comes out blue with my Panasonic but this camera captures it well.
