When we came home with the fencing for 'le petit enclos' for Jinks, I went round to open the side gate for Ray and found this pigeon. I actually had my camera in my hand (true!).
When I opened the gate the pigeon soon scuttled away and went to hide under Ray's car. When I looked again, it had disappeared. But I saw it a couple of days afterwards still grounded unable to use both wings properly, running across the grove. Lots of cats around here so guess it has met its demise by now.
The new space for Jinks is finished apart from the doggy gate which is coming in the post from a firm in Scotland.
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
Sam, it's so bizarre as it has changed his behaviour and made him quieter and more obedient to have a smaller space -where he can't hide under bushes or go awol!!
I can hardly believe it but I just went out to the shed for something and there, trotting along in the main part of the garden - was Jinks! Part of his new enclosure is an existing fence with bigger holes than the new fence. It gives me no pleasure to say that I've been telling Ray that some of the holes are too big and he's been insisting that Jinks could not get out of them. Back to the drawing board! (At least he was still in the main garden!) We tempted him back indoors with a treat......
