A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
This makes for a beautiful photo! We, too, have the need of a ferry here across a fast flowing river. Most amazing are the photos from days-long-gone-by when "the ferry" was no more than a very small boat...(think canoe) with a few people and, n the case of the photo I saw, a horse standing in the middle of them all! (I'd take a pass on traveling that one!)
Josephine looks like a party ship.....she looks beautifully maintained . I am a bit like you Hazel, not happy on the water! I don't mind proper ferry rides such as Stenna Line & as long as it's short distance as in Ireland.
Very nice capture. The boat that I went out on the plegic birding trip was a whole lot smaller then that. Of course I caught some Dramamine before I left.
Jonathan, once was definitely enough for me!
My basline is that it's a ship big enough to take the car on!
It's a boat, rather than a chain ferry. It's not so far from Poole! Nearest seaside is Southbourne or Mudeford.
