A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
They look very defined in b&w
I do prefer to shoot in colour and transfer to b&w and work on toning and contrast. Plus I forget to change the settings and then have Annabelle in b&w :0)))
Lovely shot, I usually shoot in colour and then convert to black and white and adjust on the sliders, that way you can adjust each individual colour contrast of the b&w shot.
Wonderful shot. I'm trying the B&W too. definitely a challenge but this works. I think I would prefer to shoot in colour and then I at least have the choice!
It's my understanding from friends more expert than I am in photography that shooting in colour and processing to b&w gives a better result....................
this is a beuatiful capture! fav! shooting in b&w gives you the oppertunity to directly see it on your screen in b&w so you can see what works and what doesn't. So if you want to learn, it is great. But personally I like to convert in postprocessing, so i have the option of doing color or b&w. And I can chose what kind of monochrome i want.
Nice shot to kick off the Flash of Red challenge! I, too, like to take the shot in color and process for the b&w later. It seems to work better for me. I will look forward to more b&w shots from you this month. :)
This is wonderful Hazel and fab for the theme. I have never taken photos in B&W in camera but always converted the colour shot. I did have difficulty today in seeing shots which would convert to B&W nicely. Fav for your great image!!
Sam, it's definitely going to be a challenge for me to do a month of b&w!!!
That's OK then -thought they might be partial to a bit of Sony for lunch!!!!!

I think I agree with you about shooting in colour - seems to give a better final effect. Thanks. And Annabelle in b&w would never do!

I love them - but they should really be ungainly the way they are shaped but instead turn out beautiful!
