Trying out some constructive hints from my 365 friends and taking a different composition of the lovely old buildings at St Cross almshouses.
Taken with Ray's smartphone camera as I'd forgotten to put the memory card back in my Sony. I shall go back and get another shot some time but I think maybe, after all, I quite like the tree in the foreground of yesterday's shot.
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
I like this pov... and the light striking the building nicely... hate that moment when you realize that you have not put the memory card back in the camera..
I have no need to take my card out when I upload my photos on my iPad thank goodness but many a time run out of battery. I need to get another but they are £40 so have put it off because as long as I remember to charge it I am ok. This is a beautiful old house Hazel....the shape & smooth stone work plus beautiful arched windows are truly lovely.
I'm a bit too extravagant taking photos to be without a 2nd battery - I got my second one at London Camera Exchange. It's not a gen one but OK and half the price.
Beautiful tranquil image. I like the tree branches in the foreground, gives it depth. I hate when I forget the memory card I have done it a few times so I keep a spare one in my camera bag all the time.
I hate that too, Julia, as you feel so powerless!!! (My little Lumix has a fair amount of internal memory but unfortunately the Sony does not.)
So many things to trip one up. And all that before you start on settings on the camera!

Phil, wait until I go back with my Sony + 50mm lens + a memory card!
Just been having a look at some of your lovely shots on Flickr...
