Queen Victoria's restored bathing machine stands on the shore at Osborne House, the summer residence of Victoria and Albert and their family.
from Queen Victoria's journal, July 30th 1847:
"went into the bathing machine where I undressed and went into the sea....... I thought it delightful till I put my head under water when I thought I should be stifled."
(Thank you for the response to my photos from Isle of Wight yesterday which has made me feel it would be a shame to consign the rest to a file where I'll probably not look at them again. So this is the first of a few more, in particular taken at Osborne House.)

The only disappointment was that the interior was not open!
