" I had taken two little figures and two ash-trays from the factory which I brought home."
These are those figures which I still have. I've researched them extensively and find that the little girl figure is still produced, albeit in different colourways but have found nothing about the little boy.
Some of the moulds were destroyed during the war so I guess he may be one of those. I'm posting them in the slim chance that anyone has any information to impart.
Amazing that they survived intact, being brought back by my dad with various documents, papers and photographs, including his diaries of course.
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
Lovely capture in more ways than one Hazel, will be featured on this years Antiques Roadshow? so nice to have some priceless family heirlooms to pass on to the next generation:)
Very adorable pair Love the colourings of the two , and the little girl is much more sympathetically coloured in comparison of the harsher colours of the more modern one !
What fabulous keepsakes. I am sure I have seen the boy on Antiques Roadshow with David Battie. I think it is very rare. Maybe take it to a reputable antique dealer to get it identified and you can go from there. Not sure I would want to be on television either, especially if I had something really valuable.
That's been suggested to me Peter but I don't think I want to be on TV!!
