The chapel is the only remaining building of the Military Hospital at Royal Victoria Country Park and the original stained glass windows, organ, interior roof and various artefacts have been preserved.
There is a heritage museum housed in the chapel: I was horrified by the iron lung - I'll post it tomorrow and see what you think!
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
Beautiful stained glass, so lovely with the light shining through.
I went to see the film Breathe last year. I can highly recommend it, telling the true story of Robin Cavendish who contracted polio. He helped invent the mechanical respirator & with his friend Teddy Hall built the first mobility chair giving patients so much independence. I remember seeing all these patients in their iron lungs & there was Robin in his chair & mobile respirator. It was very moving.

Interesting, thank you Pat.
