Perfect for vegetables. We had something similar when I was a child, EPNS aka electro plated nickel silver. In fact they are now part of our batterie de cuisine...and bring back happy childhood memories.
@ziggy77 Thank you Jo. The design is probably based on early American pewterware. @olivetreeann You're right. I prefer the pewter to the silver for decorative food service. @s4sayer You know, I don't know that I've ever actually put any food in it. I should. @pyrrhula Thank you. @kwind Thanks Kim @jamibann Thank you Issi. @craftymeg Thank you Margaret. @mandygravil Thanks Mandy. I need to shoot my pewter more often. I have several other pieces. @hajeka Thank you Henk-Jan. I grew up in Pennsylvania which is one of the older states in the USA. This is a replica of early American dinnerware. I like the heft of it compared with silver bowls and other pieces.
@will_wooderson No. It's the finish it has. It's actually not the same kind of shine as silver has. It's more subdued. I did wash it for the photo, though.
