Get Pushed Challenge #540
My Get Pushed partner gave me the following challenge: Check out some of your get pushed photos and choose one you were not happy with and try it again to see if you can get a better result. It does not need to be an exact replication of what you did - just another response to the same challenge.
I reviewed past GP challenge photos to see which ones I had indicated I wasn't pleased with and which would be realistic at this time to "do over."
I chose the following photo http://365project.org/randystreat/themes-and-chal/2022-04-16 I wasn't entirely satisfied with the shadows in the 4/16 photo as they seemed out of focus. I found a similar problem this time so I spent time playing with the lighting, distance of the original object from the light source. I improved a bit but ended up post-processing in both Lightroom and Photoshop to try to get those shadows "crispier." I feel better about this result.
@farmreporter Thank you Wendy for "forcing" me to look at this again. I'm not sure if I'm expecting too much sooc or if I can't see well enough to focus. I used both manual and autofocus in this exercise. I hate to depend so much on post-processing but sometimes I have to in order to get the look I'm going for.
This is wonderful, Kathy!! So glad that you played with light and distance to get the better result.
I find satisfaction in getting something corrected with a 'do-over'.
A FAV!
I had to really read why you weren’t pleased with the first one. I can see that this one has nice sharp edges. Nice improvement and seasonal addition.
I think you improved upon it very well! I like the simplicity of the subject in this one and everything does seem much crisper. However you achieve that effect is secondary to the results

How about making a Christmas card - complete with greeting for your get pushed challenge this week?
Thank you one and all for the kind words and favs.
