Not the Philadelphia Christmas window displays of my youth, but really there's not much that's the same these days.I hate that kids (and adults) everywhere can't see the lavish displays in the store windows and sit on Santa's lap in the store to tell him their Christmas gift wishes.
This is a beautiful shot Kathy. With so few stores having storefronts anymore it stands to reason there would be less displays but I remember goint into the "cioty" and looking atall the elaborate displays as well

It's late so I'm doing a group thank you. I do read every comment and appreciate each one. @tunia - I grew up about 20 - 30 minutes from Philadelphia. Before big malls came our our way, we had one trip into Philly to hear the organ and Wanamakers and go into their toy area and road the train around the top of that floor. There were big window displays in the other large department stores, probably Gimbels, JC Penney and more.
Not as large as the lavish displays of your youth, but a very nice window display. Little by little things are going back to normal. Eventually, we’ll have kids sitting on Santa’s lap again.
@mcsiegle Thank you Mary. My town isn't big enough to have lavish displays. The biggest store is Walmart and they're not about to waste money on something like that. BTW, apparently lots of people don't want their children sitting on Santa's lap these days. @haskar I think so too. @joemuli Wow, kind of cool to know someone who did that. I would imagine the mannequins are heavy. You have the creativity to set up a good window, I'd think.
