such a beautiful composition and close up! I tried to figure out why it is called that but all I saw was the benefits of taking the oil. I need to read more about that later
I did some research and I found that it is the yellow variety that only opens in the evening, the pink ones ones bloom both day and night but may close if full hot sun hits them.
@grammyn Further investigation indicates in the south, pink evening primroses do just like mine, open in the morning and close in the evening. And that these are not primulas, but belong to another species of flowers. ( https://www.thespruce.com/growing-pink-evening-primrose-5076325 for further reading). My neighbor growing up called these windflowers. @kjarn Thank you. see the link in the response to katy's comments if you'd like to learn more about these flowers.
@olivetreeann Thanks so much Ann. @grammyn You're welcome Katy. @shutterbug49 I'm glad to see them all day as well Debbie. Thank you. @Dawn Thank you Dawn. @dkbarnett They are interesting aren't they. I studied them last night and noticed most of the veins or lines go in one direction from the larger one, depending on which side of the petal they are on. @wakelys Thanks Sue. A shame a lot of people to don't like them because they spread. This is the third time I've planted them and first time they've prospered. @onewing Thanks Babs. @jamibann Thanks Issi. @rensala Thanks Renee. They are so pretty. @craftymeg Thank you Meg. @haskar Thank you Hannah. @tunia Wow, I can't believe I'm teaching the Master Gardener something. Me with my brown thumb! Thank you Tunia. @pyrrhula Thank you Ferry.
