Agree with GaryW and I VML how, in spite of the shadow, you can still see the twinkle in his eye.

Your lighting is so good in this, and no shadows behind. I'm always having a problem with shadows behind the people in my portraits. That's one of my personal challenges, to improve my lighting and eliminate shadows when taking portraits. I am fav'ing this one as inspiration.

@chejja Caroline, I too have trouble with lighting. I mostly use natural lighting because I don't have off camera flashes or light boxes. In this case, the room was bright, but subdued through the curtains. He was far enough away from the wall that if there were shadows, they weren't close to his head. I appreciate your comments and fav.
