The old Alva Theater by randystreat

The old Alva Theater

For the 52 week challenge, which this week is architecture. While the building itself is a bit boxy, I like the tiles used above the marquee and above the top of the stairs at the side. I like the warmth of the brick and the tiles and the interesting windows.
Nice building and capture.

Wonderful architecture shot. Great lines.

It must have been the main attraction in town when it was a theater. Somehow being repurposed as a photographer's studio seem appropriate! Good shot.

It has character - and I would love to go into the studio and snoop around!

Thanks for your views and comments Ferry, Hope, Ann, Issi, Haskar, Wendy, Tom and Jennie. I understand it was a movie theater firstly. When I got to go it was a theater for live shows, but intimate as it's really not very big. A photographer does have his studio in the downstairs and he lives upstairs and I understand there are (or were) cats everywhere inside. I had thought about going, but allergies to cats have made that not so desirable.

@bkbinthecity Yes. I like when old buildings are updated and used. Seems such a waste to tear down a building with good bones.
