Hi Thom! It looks like a brushfooted butterfly. Try a Silvery Checkerspot and see if it looks like your butterfly. Beautiful capture! Awesome details and the bee is icing on the cake! :0)
The detail here is amazing, Thom!! You can even see the"feathery" outline of the wings and its little striped legs! Wonderful catch - especially with the bee!
@cjwhite I think you're right, Carolyn, though there was another I thought a possibility. I keep going to the BAMONA (dot-org) web site, so I "registered" today and submitted this sighting for identification. Thanks for coming to my/our aid!
What a snoze! I have never seen on of these! I see Carolyn thinks she has it worked out. She surely knows her flutterbys! This is a gorgeous pic..the flower ball is interesting and the bonus bee is just great too!
@rhoing Wow! There was your picture and they verified it! The Internet is so cool....so you go by Matgeek there? Lol. Dd you see my sweet little skipper I posted a day or so ago?
Beautiful! I kept looking for your pictures to post and wondered why I wasn't seeing them in the feed. LOL! I now know had not had you added to my follow feed. Duh.
