Still cataloging our garden visitors…

This butterfly specimen has posed with wings spread; s/he should be straightforward to identify once I get out my field guides and check online … or use BAMONA (Butterflies and Moths of North America)!

Confirmed at BAMONA as another “Erynnis juvenalis” or “Juvenal’s Duskywing”; http://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/sighting_details/724360

Update. This image is on the BAMONA species page for this species, http://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/species/Erynnis-juvenalis

What a perfect pose! Love the way she's spread out her wings for you - just like she's saying, "Hey, Thom! What am I?"

You are so lucky to have so many butterflies in your garden. We have only had one so far this summer. This is a lovely composition. The colours look so good together.

I faved this one due to the plant and the color tones and THEN the butterfly on it more than the butterfly. He is cute enough, but this is a lovely photo as a whole. You seem like you have a nice garden. I don't. Maybe I can remedy that.
