Infrastructure

The public works crews have been working extensively for several weeks on a stretch of road Clare & I drive every day to campus. It looks like water lines are being replaced.

I have to say that if I had known about the academic major of “urban planning” when I was in college… The field is probably full of ideas that would lead many of us to say, “Whoa; I never thought about that!”

I have definitely hit a bump in the photo-a-day-road. The days are shorter and the bugs are fewer and farther between now. Plus, it’s “second-midterm time” in the fall semester, so I have been writing and grading exams, in addition to the weekly quiz through which the graduate students must suffer. (I stole the concept from a now-retired colleague who taught the spring semester follow-up to the “math-econ” course I teach in the fall.

So until I get out from under all this academic paperwork, there aren’t going to be many frames every day…

Hey Thom, do what you can, decrease the pressure. We have been there, and we hear you. Things will slow down.
