Three days ago I happened upon a mating pair of Cabbage Whites in our garden — http://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/sighting_details/907641 — but I posted an image of an Eastern Tailed-Blue because I caught one [literally] with its wings down and that’s a rarer event!
Between the low temperatures and rain today, I saw only one butterfly, a female Cabbage White (Family, Pieridae, subfamily, Pierinae) in the garden adjacent to the campus greenhouse. Yes, once again, Tara, it seems they pose for me!
This one can be identified as a female because it has two black spots on the upper sides of its forewings. (Once this ID has been confirmed at BAMONA, I will provide a link for both images: this one and a shot of the upper sides of its right wings.)

@espyetta *She*, MaryBeth! *She*! ;) @danette This lep was *so* patient with me! She let me push a leaf on the left out of the way so I could compose this frame knowing how it would have to be cropped! I couldn't believe she didn't fly away when my hand was just a couple inches away!
