Danaus plexippus (Monarch) by rhoing

Danaus plexippus (Monarch)

It was a red-letter day in the campus garden! First Monarch of the season, first Painted Lady of the season (Vanessa cardui), shots of a Zebra Swallowtail and male and female Eastern Tiger Swallowtails. Sorry to resort to yet another butterfly…

Confirmed at BAMONA as Danaus plexippus or “Monarch”; http://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/sighting_details/916563
