[Finally] Figured out “Custom White Balance”!

My plant biologist tutor “clued me in” to the “white balance” setting on our digital cameras (even P&Ss). Since then, I’ve consistently used the Daylight, Cloudy, Fluorescent, Incandescent and Flash settings on my two cameras, but on my T2i I have been confused by the “Custom” option. Well today I figured it out and here is the first successful shot with the “Custom” setting for “white balance”!

Manual, schmanual. I was trial-and-error with [typical guy] button-pushing.

Oh, this is a sconce in one of my daughter’s apartments…

Rainy day in the Boston area. Lunch at Johnny’s in Newton, http://www.johnnysluncheonette.com/
Dinner was pasta at Jenny and Steve’s since tomorrow we race in Somerville…

As a final note, this is a major reason I signed up for 365 almost three years ago: to “learn my camera(s)”. Clearly: still learning!
