A cup of refraction

I was walking up the stairs with the sun coming in over the front door and shining through the banister posts. This made for an interesting pattern on the carpeting but then I set down my cup of coffee and got this. Perhaps this would have been a better Pi Day post?

You made the mundane very interesting. Try processing the heck out of it. Play with the contrast, turn it BW and see what happens. Make the original objects unidentifiable.

@gizathecat Hmm. That's a good thought. If I rotate the image 90° CCW, I'd have the beginning of a "power button" icon! These conditions should be sufficiently easy to duplicate: “Challenge accepted,” Lydia (as Barney Stinson would say)…
