Fixing an anomaly [Filler]

Ripping out soffit that didn't “match” the counters.

The original builder planned to have a “peninsula” type counter coming in from an outside wall.

But the first buyer wanted an island.
“No, you don't,” said the contractor.
“Yes, I do,” said the buyer.
She got her island, but the soffit had already been built over where the peninsula would have been.

Until yesterday.

All that was in the soffit was wiring for two recessed light fixtures, so taking out the soffit was a relatively straightforward operation.

@janeandcharlie This is the first of many parts of this grand project that I would *NOT* have tried to do on my own.
