Ripping out soffit that didn't “match” the counters.
The original builder planned to have a “peninsula” type counter coming in from an outside wall.
But the first buyer wanted an island.
“No, you don't,” said the contractor.
“Yes, I do,” said the buyer.
She got her island, but the soffit had already been built over where the peninsula would have been.
Until yesterday.
All that was in the soffit was wiring for two recessed light fixtures, so taking out the soffit was a relatively straightforward operation.
