Loonngg travel day home.
Up at 4:30 (aka for some, “zero-dark thirty”).
Airport shuttle at 5:00.
Here we are taxiing at 6:50 a.m. (before sunrise).
Home around 6:00 p.m. (by way of Dallas-Fort Worth, of course, since this was American and it makes so much sense to fly that far south first before going north again).
The journey home included a lengthy stop at uBreakiFix again to deal with my phone’s touch screen issues. But this is neither the beginning nor the end of the phone saga…
BTW, something we’d never done before…
Yesterday was spent mostly at the state capitol complex without a lot of [sustained] walking.
Soooo, what if we return our rental car early and walk from the airport to the hotel?
How far is it?
Shoot, it’s less than three miles.
We’re accustomed to longer hikes on up-and-down terrain and this would be a walk of two-point-something miles on level terrain.
It was a lovely afternoon, so that’s what we did:
» returned the car;
» walked back to our hotel (here’s the route!);
» changed clothes;
» walked across the street for beer and dinner. :)
