Painted Canyon, Theodore Roosevelt National Park by rhoing

Painted Canyon, Theodore Roosevelt National Park

First we hiked the Painted Canyon Nature Trail, which was a great little hike: short loop, but good elevation changes for such a short distance, and beautiful views.

Then we started out on the Painted Canyon Trail. We didn’t go as far as we hoped as we came upon a herd of bison. So turn around we did. Then we headed back to Bismarck. Well, after Mimi bought some plush bison for the grandchildren at the visitor center. :)

@randystreat @digitalrn The brightly-colored tree in the foreground is the main reason I chose this one!
