Barred Owl Keeping an Eye on Me!

This one was keeping a pretty close eye on me as I was trying to get a few good shots. One good thing about these guys, is that they will usually stay put as you are getting the shots. Occasionally, something will catch their eye and that head will spin around to see what is going on. Fun to watch.

@k9photo Kate, guess it's just a matter of getting to know some of their areas. They are usually right on the trails that I walk, it's just a matter of keeping your eye's open and looking up and around in the trees. So I usually am going very slow. :-) Do have a few spots that are fairly common, so have to check those out real close.

We don’t have these guys near us, but lots and lots of Great-horned Owls. There is something quite magical about owls....great job catching this one looking calm but fully aware.
